The Sun Also Rises

Ingredients

  • 2 ozDry Sparkling Wine (Prosecco or Cava Work Well)
  • ¼ oz Absynthe
  • ¾ oz Gin
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ oz simple syrup (1:1 Ratio, Sugar: Water)
  • 3 dashes Aromatic bitters
  • 1 lemon twist

Tools Needed

  • Boston Shaker
  • Jigger
  • Hawthorne Strainer
  • Ice Scoop
  • Ice Bucket
  • Bar Knife
  • Bar Board
  • Peeler
  • Collins

Instructions

  1. Pour sparkling wine into Collins glass over ice.
  2. In a Boston Shaker, combine absinthe, gin, lemon and simple syrup.
  3. Shake with ice and strain slowly into glass.
  4. Scrape nutmeg over the top.
  5. Top with a dash or two of bitters & lemon twist.
